Blue Sea, Fabulous Bohol Island

Hi guys, it’s been a while that I haven’t come back to WP. Miss you all! I am in Philippines now. Yesterday, I visited a beautiful island which was Bohol Island.

Bohol

Bohol lies on the southeast from Cebu Island across the Cebu Strait and southwest from Leyte Island. It is separated by the Camotes Sea and Canigao Channel. Bohol is also located north of Mindanao with the Bohol Sea between them.

Bohol Island

The first thought that came into my mind when I saw the sea of Bohol is: “OH MY GOD!” The sea of Bohol is so blue that makes doubt that the blue is not real. Bohol is often referred to as the Jewel of the Philippines.

Bohol Island

There were many visitors from all over the world came to this fabulous island to spend their vocations. My guider told me that, if I visit Bohol earlier in May, I could have the chance to see the Dolphin Festival. What a pity!

Bohol Island

However, it doesn’t matter now. I really have a good vacation here. I wish I can just live on this island. What a leisure life the local people have! Looking at the photos I took, you will see what a great place Bohol is.

A Dolphin Day without Dolphin 2

Like I said before, my friends and I rent a boat to see dolphins. We were not lucky enough to see the dolphins. However, I still have a good time that day.

 Philippines,travel

Sometimes we set so many obstacles for ourselves that we can’t find the easiest way to get what we want. To me, traveling means freedom. It is really good when I can relax myself from the inside of my mind.

The captain and guide kept apologize to us that we couldn’t see any dolphins this time. The captain explained to me that, there were big ships working in this region of sea, the dolphins were all scared away. Therefore, it may be impossible for us to see these cute animals.

Maybe because of getting up too early, our guide looked very tired on the boat. Though we settled the ideal that we would rent his boat next day, he still got up very early and waited us in front of the hotel we checked in. When the captain told us that the dolphins were gone, our guide fell asleep on the board.

I asked the captain that whether he could turn off the engines and let the boat drifting on the sea. He gladly agreed. So instead of seeing cute dolphins, I got the opportunity to appreciate the beautiful scenery of this sea.

A Dolphin Day without Dolphin 1

I know my title of this post may sound weird to you. I was planning to out of sea to see the dolphin. However, I didn’t have the good luck to see these cute and smart angels in sea.

The sea in Philippines is really beautiful. Today I got up quite early. The sky was still dark when I went out. I was going to see dolphins. It was a big pity that I didn’t see any dolphins. Capitan kept saying sorry and explained to me why we couldn’t see them. In fact, I was not so disappointed. The reason is, I didn’t expect that I could see dolphins at very beginning.

We spent 1,300 Philippine pesos to rent a boat. It was not expensive at all. There were five people on the boat: the Capitan, our guide, and three guests including me. The boat was big enough for our five people.

Therefore, my dolphin day was called off. I stood on the board, feeling the gentle and cool wind and the shiny sunlight. Every thing was so beautiful! It doesn’t matter whether I saw dolphins or not. I have already enjoyed a nice day. That was enough.

Mythic Fall, A Moment Gone

A Moment Gone

by Tsangyang Gyatso

A moment gone, hoisting the wind-horse banners

but not to beg good fortune . . . only to welcome your return.

A day gone, raising the sacred boulder pile

but not to accumulate virtue . . . only to cast a stone in your heart’s pool.

A month gone, setting all the prayer wheels turning

but not to achieve transcendance . . . only to brush your finger tips.

A year gone, prone in the dust of the mountain road

but not to make obeisance . . . only to press into your warmth.

A lifetime gone . . . turning and turning, mountains, rivers, stupas

but not to seek rebirth . . . only to meet you along the way.

To the people of Yunnan, Tsangyang Gyatso is their great god. However, in my eyes, he is a romantic poet. (By the way, the poem is originally written in Chinese. I translated this poem into the English version. Hope you guys like it. ) In my last post, I mentioned the three kind women. But I haven’t share the rest of my photos with my dear readers.

These photos are taken when we got the Mythic Fall. The mountain we climbed is called Meili Snow Mountain. To the local people, the mountain is absolutely holy and pure. In the poem, the poet mentioned about “the sacred boulder pile”.

In fact, we can see countless scared boulder piles on our way to the holy Mythic Fall. The old grandma told me that, the boulder piles is the place where dead people’s soul can live in. For this reason, local people are very respect to these stone piles.

It was a long journey. I clearly remember that, I was totally exhausted when I was near the destination. However, when I actually saw the Mythic Fall, all my tiredness was gone away. The fall was so amazing!

The Unforgettable Journey In Mythic Fall

After having a cozy weekends, I decide to share my experience in Yunnan which happened a few weeks ago. Last Sunday afternoon, when I watched the photos I took in Yunnan, all the details of the journey freshly showed up in my mind. What impressed me most is the trip to Mythic Falls, a heaven-like place.

Yunnan,travel

The story started with three old local women. I guess three of them are older than 60 years old. I and my companies met the three women on the way to Mythic Falls. They were very healthy. Kind is the impression they left to me.

Sometimes, they were left behind by us, but sometimes, they were ahead before us. Every time when we met together on the thin mountain road, they returned kindly smiles to us. We barely spoke to each other on the way to the fall because of the barrier of language. We couldn’t under stand their dialect. However, the smile erased the differences between us and the old women.

We shared the same destination with the three old ladies, Mythic Fall. However, we had different purpose. We visited the fall for astonishing scenery. The old grandmas were coming to worship the holy Gods of the mountain. For this reason, their footsteps were much stable and fast than us.

Even until now, every time I recall the faces and shadows of three women, I still can’t help to admiring them.

It’s Friday!

It’s Friday! The happy weekends are waiting for you. After five day’s hard work, it’s time for you to consider how to relax yourself.

Sometimes, you need to step outside, get some air, and remind yourself of who you are and who you want to be. Recently, I’ve been quite busy. A lot of things are waiting for me to deal with. When I am under pressure, I choose to have a short trip to relax myself. So I invite some friends and drove the car to fishing near the city.

sunset,theamazing

Jinding Lake is our destination. The truth is, it is not a lake but a reservoir. As it is quite large, the local people call this reservoir the “lake”.

sunset,theamazing

Many city men, like me and my friends, drove cars to the Jinding Lake for fishing. It doesn’t matter whether you can catch the fish or not. This is an opportunity for busy city people to slow down the path of their life.

sunset,theamazing

Because it is Friday, there are less people than the weekends. But lucky me! I don’t like the big crowd of people. I am here for the scenery not for people.

sunset,theamazing

I spent the whole afternoon at the Jinding Lake. It was already 6 p.m. when I realized. The sun was still bright. So I took out my camera and record down the fabulous sunset.

Slowly, the nightfall is approaching. The sky became red and orange. The lake was painted on orange color by the sunset. The surface of the lake was so sparking that I can barely open my eyes.

Days when I was in Lhasa

To me, Lhasa is one of the most purity places in the world. I was totally shock on my first sight of the blue sky of Lhasa.

Lhasa

I never see such a fascinating sky ever before. The sky of Lhasa is so blue and pure that making my heart purified.

Lhasa

Lhasa, which means “Land of the Gods”, is the heart of Tibet. There are three main hills of Lhasa represent the “Three Protectors of Tibet.”

LhasaLhasa

Potala Palace is the most magnificent buildings in Lhasa. The building measures 400 meters east-west and 350 meters north-south, with sloping stone walls averaging 3 m. thick, and 5 m. (more than 16 ft) thick at the base, and with copper poured into the foundations to help proof it against earthquakes.

Lhasa

Lhasa is a magical place. It makes me don’t want to leave this city.

The night of Potala (2)

Lhasa is a amazing place. Many city men resigned their job and packed a simple bag to Lhasa. Some of them even spend a year or more in Lhasa.

Tibet

Tourist resources in Lhasa are plenty. There are good hotels, tasty restaurants, travel agencies, Chinese department stores and supermarkets.

Tibet

In some parts of the city, you may find no difference to other Chinese cities. But the Tibetan influence is still strong and evident, especially around the old quarters near Barkhor Street.

Lhasa is famous for the great building, the Potala Palace. It is the holiest and greatest Palace in the world. It is named after Mount Potalaka, the mythical abode of Chenresig or Avalokitesvara.
