Blue Sea, Fabulous Bohol Island

Hi guys, it’s been a while that I haven’t come back to WP. Miss you all! I am in Philippines now. Yesterday, I visited a beautiful island which was Bohol Island.

Bohol

Bohol lies on the southeast from Cebu Island across the Cebu Strait and southwest from Leyte Island. It is separated by the Camotes Sea and Canigao Channel. Bohol is also located north of Mindanao with the Bohol Sea between them.

Bohol Island

The first thought that came into my mind when I saw the sea of Bohol is: “OH MY GOD!” The sea of Bohol is so blue that makes doubt that the blue is not real. Bohol is often referred to as the Jewel of the Philippines.

Bohol Island

There were many visitors from all over the world came to this fabulous island to spend their vocations. My guider told me that, if I visit Bohol earlier in May, I could have the chance to see the Dolphin Festival. What a pity!

Bohol Island

However, it doesn’t matter now. I really have a good vacation here. I wish I can just live on this island. What a leisure life the local people have! Looking at the photos I took, you will see what a great place Bohol is.

A Dolphin Day without Dolphin 2

Like I said before, my friends and I rent a boat to see dolphins. We were not lucky enough to see the dolphins. However, I still have a good time that day.

Sometimes we set so many obstacles for ourselves that we can’t find the easiest way to get what we want. To me, traveling means freedom. It is really good when I can relax myself from the inside of my mind.

The captain and guide kept apologize to us that we couldn’t see any dolphins this time. The captain explained to me that, there were big ships working in this region of sea, the dolphins were all scared away. Therefore, it may be impossible for us to see these cute animals.

Maybe because of getting up too early, our guide looked very tired on the boat. Though we settled the ideal that we would rent his boat next day, he still got up very early and waited us in front of the hotel we checked in. When the captain told us that the dolphins were gone, our guide fell asleep on the board.

I asked the captain that whether he could turn off the engines and let the boat drifting on the sea. He gladly agreed. So instead of seeing cute dolphins, I got the opportunity to appreciate the beautiful scenery of this sea.

A Dolphin Day without Dolphin 1

I know my title of this post may sound weird to you. I was planning to out of sea to see the dolphin. However, I didn’t have the good luck to see these cute and smart angels in sea.

The sea in Philippines is really beautiful. Today I got up quite early. The sky was still dark when I went out. I was going to see dolphins. It was a big pity that I didn’t see any dolphins. Capitan kept saying sorry and explained to me why we couldn’t see them. In fact, I was not so disappointed. The reason is, I didn’t expect that I could see dolphins at very beginning.

We spent 1,300 Philippine pesos to rent a boat. It was not expensive at all. There were five people on the boat: the Capitan, our guide, and three guests including me. The boat was big enough for our five people.

Therefore, my dolphin day was called off. I stood on the board, feeling the gentle and cool wind and the shiny sunlight. Every thing was so beautiful! It doesn’t matter whether I saw dolphins or not. I have already enjoyed a nice day. That was enough.

Mythic Fall, A Moment Gone

A Moment Gone

by Tsangyang Gyatso

A moment gone, hoisting the wind-horse banners

but not to beg good fortune . . . only to welcome your return.

A day gone, raising the sacred boulder pile

but not to accumulate virtue . . . only to cast a stone in your heart’s pool.

A month gone, setting all the prayer wheels turning

but not to achieve transcendance . . . only to brush your finger tips.

A year gone, prone in the dust of the mountain road

but not to make obeisance . . . only to press into your warmth.

A lifetime gone . . . turning and turning, mountains, rivers, stupas

but not to seek rebirth . . . only to meet you along the way.

To the people of Yunnan, Tsangyang Gyatso is their great god. However, in my eyes, he is a romantic poet. (By the way, the poem is originally written in Chinese. I translated this poem into the English version. Hope you guys like it. ) In my last post, I mentioned the three kind women. But I haven’t share the rest of my photos with my dear readers.

These photos are taken when we got the Mythic Fall. The mountain we climbed is called Meili Snow Mountain. To the local people, the mountain is absolutely holy and pure. In the poem, the poet mentioned about “the sacred boulder pile”.

In fact, we can see countless scared boulder piles on our way to the holy Mythic Fall. The old grandma told me that, the boulder piles is the place where dead people’s soul can live in. For this reason, local people are very respect to these stone piles.

It was a long journey. I clearly remember that, I was totally exhausted when I was near the destination. However, when I actually saw the Mythic Fall, all my tiredness was gone away. The fall was so amazing!

The night of Potala (1)

Many people yearn for visiting Tibet. Lhasa is the hottest place which fans of tourism want to go most.

The night of Potala

Lhasa, which means “Land of the Gods”, is the heart of Tibet. Over 1,300 years old, it sits in a valley right next to the Lhasa River. It is located at 3650 meters (12 000 feet) above sea level on the northern slopes of the Himalayas.

The night of Potala

People love Lhasa because of its night. When the nightfall approaches, people, who you usually barely meet in the day, all come to the street.

The night of Potala

I find that the night of Potala is really lively. Tourists hang around the streets and square. They drink and chat. Artists play nice music and songs. It makes me feel less holy religion atmosphere, but more sense of leisure life.

Thinking along the Sand River (1)

When I was tired or upset, I always drive my car and take my Canon with me. The sand river is one of places I frequently go.

sunset

This is my favorite spot to watch the sunset. Watching the sun going down to the west. The colorful sunlight spill into the river. The sunset always reminds me that we should fight and show our best even at the end of our life.

There are so many things that can make you happy. Don’t focus too much on things that make you sad.
